Lake Minnetonka Bass fishing report

May 3, 2026

The big girls came out to play!

This morning guide trip started off with a 32" pike on a chatter bait. Then we saw a few bass, but they were really spooky at this spot, so we moved to the next spot.

The next spot we found some hungry bass. These bass wanted the wacky worm worked slow or letting it just sit worked even better. In the picture was the first double of the morning, one was 20" and the other 18". These fish were in the weeds in 4'-6' of water.

The next spot there were even more bass with many in the 18" class. They were up in 2'-4' of water and hitting the wacky worms here too. My clients did a great job today and ended up boating 22 fish.

The water temp was 55-56 degrees this morning so when the warm sun is up these fish are moving up into the warmer water.

This Saturdays Minnesota fishing opener should be good on Lake Minnetonka.
