The bass we are catching this week have been in 8-12' of water. Most of them are coming on Ned rigs and jig worms up in the weeds. The pike are still on the weed edge in 15-22' of water. Crankbaits have been working the best to get these toothy fish to bite.
The ice is now off of Lake Minnetonka and the open water fishing season has begun. Get your fishing rods ready to target them hungry crappies on the warmer days.
Once we get the warmer weather and the ice is off the crappies will move in. Try slow moving plastics or a bobber with a gulp alive minnow in the northern bays.
The warm weather will soon melt the snow and ice and we will be fishing for Largemouth bass and crappies in the shallow coves of Lake Minnetonka and other lakes.
