Crappie fishing.

I fished the Memories Made Crappie contest on Saturday with two great marines. This is a well ran contest to start off the open water season. I had one local client and one client from Utah that had never fished crappies before. It didn't take more then 10 minutes into the event and both of them started catching lots of crappies. It was a fun day of catching fish, but we didn't get into the big ones we needed to win this event. Most of the crappies we caught were in 4-6' of water. The water temp was 52 degrees so the bite will be good for some time yet.

The crappie bite continues to improve as the water warms. Most of the fish are coming from 5-10' of water.

With the warmer weather the crappie bite has begone. We are finding crappies anywhere from 6-12' of water.
